Zac Efron lined up for 'Flash Gordon'?

Zac Efron is reportedly in talks to play Flash Gordon in a new movie.

The High School Musical star recently admitted that he would love to star in Spider-Man, but sources told Showbiz Spy that he is "excited" about joining Flash Gordon.
"Zac is one of the frontrunners to play Flash and he's making no secret of the fact that he would love the role," an insider said.

"Spider-Man has been done and he doesn't want to follow someone like Tobey Maguire. Flash would be all Zac and a chance for him to make a mark with his own franchise. He's very excited about the possiblity."

'High School Musical' Star Ashley Tisdale Joins CW Pilot 'Hellcats'

'High School Musical' star Ashley Tisdale has joined the cast of the CW pilot 'Hellcats', reports Entertainment Weekly. The comedy-drama, currently in development and slated for fall programming, will revolve around the competitive world of college cheerleading. Kevin Murphy and Tom Welling will act as executive producers.
Ashley Tisdale's film credits include the 'High School Musical' trilogy, 'Donnie Darko', 'Aliens in the Attic', 'Bring it On: In It to Win It', 'Whisper of the Heart', and 'Picture This'. Hudgens in tears after workouts

Vanessa Hudgens has revealed she was in tears after training with Navy Seals for her latest movie role.

The High School Musical star worked out with Seals for several months to prepare for action flick Sucker Punch and told People the gruelling sessions were a challenge.
"I was bawling my eyes out because they push you so hard," said the 21-year-old. She went on: "It was the most intense thing that anyone could ever do."

However, Vanessa, who is dating her HSM co-star Zac Efron, said the training was ultimately "empowering".

Vanessa Hudgens on using Guns in ‘Sucker Punch’

“I have a movie called ‘Sucker Punch’ coming out in 2011 that Zack Snyder directed, and I’m very excited about it because I finally get to be an extreme badass and kick butt,” Vanessa said. V’s character in the movie Blondie gets to do lots of action in the movie, which may even be in 3D! “I think it might be [coming out in 3-D] … actually, we didn’t shoot it for 3-D,” she said. “And I just found out the other day. I’m just excited to know that when I throw my tomahawk, it’s going right in your face.”
Vanessa also got to use guns while shooting the movie, which she loved. “There were so many [scenes that I love], I get to shoot a .50-cal gun, which is a gun that’s on the back of a tank that’s in the Army. It’s intense. It’s just the most thrilling thing a person can ever do is shoot that gun.”

Vanessa’s latest project Beastly will be released later this year, while Bandslam was just released onto DVD!

Singer and "The Last Song" star Miley Cyrus, commenting on whether or not she was a fan of Justin Bieber. The pair both appeared on "The View" earlier in the week, as Bieber was supporting his new album My World 2.0 and she was on to talk about her new movie. Though she is currently dating "The Last Song" co-star Liam Hemsworth, she apparently is looking for somebody like the late Nirvana frontman.
That's not to say that Cyrus doesn't appreciate the power of Bieber Fever. "My little sister was obsessed with him, and he actually gave her a shout-out on Twitter," she said. "And I thought that was really sweet. So I was like, 'Thank you so much. That meant a lot too.' ... He called her a cutie, and I haven't stopped hearing about it."

'I'm not perfect'

Miley Cyrus has admitted that everything she does is not "perfect" but that her mistakes help her grow as a person.

The singer-actress, who confirmed that she is planning to stop making music to concentrate on acting, has said that sometimes her decisions are "wrong".
Speaking to The Daily Telegraph, the 17-year-old said: "Every career thing I do can't be perfect, and sometimes my decisions are wrong.

"I always say the minute I stop making mistakes is the minute I stop learning, and I've definitely learned a lot."

Miley Cyrus has confirmed that she is planning to stop making music.

The 'Party In The USA' singer recently admitted that she has become disillusioned with the music industry.
She has now told E! News that she wants to focus more on an acting career. "I've got a record coming out in June and then I'm done," she revealed. "I just want to work in movies. That's what I like and that's what I want to be doing."

Cyrus will appear in upcoming film The Last Song and also has a cameo in Sex And The City 2.

'American Idol': Miley Cyrus trumps Crystal Bowersox's 'Bobby McGee,' 'When a Man Loves a Woman'

t's a good thing Miley Cyrus was guest mentor on "American Idol" this week, otherwise viewers would have had nothing to watch – the show's Kindle ad was more riveting.

Earlier this week "Idol" producers were given flak for choosing a 17-year-old pop star to mentor contestants almost a decade older than her; but the decision may have saved "Idol" from losing fans. Cyrus offered snippets of little known insight into the music industry and injected the two-hour show with more personality than all the contestants put together.
We learned the following about Cyrus (and the world of uber-famous pop stars in general):

* She gets nervous before she performs and she says if others claim they don't, "they're lying".
* She notices when people freak out when she makes eye contact with them during her concerts (i.e. it's a good bet most performers do even if they pretend not to – rejoice, band-aids!).
* She hearts Michael Lynche.
* Her mother really does have abnormally large eyes.


Because of his chemistry with Cyrus, Michael Lynche was the only real noteworthy stand-out of the night. The pop songstress mentioned more than once that she was "in love" with the new dad (though it appeared to be more platonic than her affection for Bret Michaels) and seemed to relish the bear hug he gave her on their first meeting. Cyrus even mimed a little heart when Lynche finished singing "When a Man Loves a Woman." It was nice to see such a poised and confident songtress dissolve into a fan girl.

Virgin Media offers Hannah Montana on-demand

The kids will be kept entertained this March with a host of on-demand children’s programmes, including Hannah Montana and High School Musical 2, on Virgin Media.

Fans of US hit show Hannah Montana can watch the entire first and second series back to back via Virgin Media’s on-demand TV service, during March.

	Virgin Media’s (www.virginmedia.com), the UK’s largest cable TV provider, is offering 50 episodes of the Disney teen sitcom starring Miley Cyrus via its TV Choice service. TV Choice costs £7 a month for customers on the Size M or L packages, or is free to XL subscribers. Customers can also watch exclusive highlights of Miley performing at a gig in London, as well as a range of music videos and movies, including High School Musical 2. “In addition to Miley-mania on-demand this month, we are also celebrating Mother’s Day with hours of family entertainment on TV and movies on-demand,” said a Virgin Media spokesperson.

Virgin Media is also offering stuff to keep mum and dad happy with on-demand episodes of drama series E.R., Big Love and The Wire, as well as Gerard Butler’s 2009 rom-com The Ugly Truth.

Customers can also watch the Michael Jackson documentary This Is It on the FilmFlex service from 29 March. FilmFlex is available to all Virgin Media homes, and offers pay-per-view on-demand movies starting from 99p a film.

Jon Ingram, operations director at Digitalchoices.co.uk, said: “The whole family is going to be kept entertained this month with Virgin Media’s on-demand TV service. Subscribing to the XL package offers you the biggest range of channels, films and programmes on-demand.”

"Hannah Montana" is the sweetest of the Disney shows

Maybe it's the daughter-father combination of Miley and Billy Ray Cyrus, the latter a country singer best known for his mega-hit "Achy Breaky Heart." Or maybe it's the way that reality imitated art, with the real Miley Cyrus suddenly playing Hannah Montana concerts all over the country and reaching a level of fame that her father never enjoyed.
There's a poignant subtext that you can feel in each episode, with just enough real daughter and dad to make this show toe a narrower line than the rest of the Disney line-up. Back-talk is kept to a relative minimum, and teen Miley Stewart--who leads the life of a normal, brunette teen by day but becomes the blonde Hannah Montana pop star by night, seems to listen to her TV/real dad more than most kids. The acting also isn't as consistently over-the-top as it is with other Disney sitcoms, and the "lessons" behind every episode are more wholesome as well.

Hannah Montana (TV Series) (DVD) Miley Says Goodbye?

If you want to be a king in the eyes of your Disney princess, pick up a copy of "Hannah Montana: Miley Says Goodbye?" on March 9 when it hits the stores. Disney's marketing people always seem to be ahead of the curve, and they're releasing this DVD featuring the two-part Season 3 finale just two days after the first part airs and before the second part will be seen by TV audiences on March 14.
But what's striking is a BFF montage that shows a VERY young Miley Stewart (in real life, Miley Cyrus) and sidekick Lilly (Emily Osment). Four years ago Cyrus was in 8th grade, but boy does she look young. Which is to say that like so many Disney stars, she grew up a Disney kid in front of millions of viewers.

Cyrus to attend awards on her own

Miley Cyrus won’t be taking her boyfriend to the Academy Awards.

The ‘Hannah Montana’ actress – who is set to present an award at the forthcoming Oscars – is reportedly worried her appearance at the prestigious ceremony will be overshadowed if she is accompanied by Australian actor Liam Hemsworth.

A source revealed: “Liam’s a pretty low-key guy anyway, he doesn’t mind not going.”
However, Miley won’t be walking down the red carpet alone at Los Angeles’ Kodak Theatre on March 7.

Her representative said: “She’s taking her mom, Tish.” Miley and Liam have never officially confirmed their romance, though the 17-year-old ‘Hannah Montana’ star has previously admitted her closeness to the 19-year-old actor has helped boost her confidence.

'Hannah Montana' star to present at the Oscars

Miley Cyrus has been named as one of the presenters at the Oscars.

The 17-year-old actress - best known as the star of the 'Hannah Montana' franchise - has joined other teen favourites Zac Efron, Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner on the list of guest hosts at the forthcoming Academy Awards.

Presenters who had previously confirmed for the ceremony include past Oscar winners Kate Winslet, Sean Penn and Penelope Cruz.
Last year, Sean won the Best Actor Oscar for his performance in 'Milk', while Kate gave a teary acceptance speech after being awarded the Best Actress gong for 2008's 'The Reader'.

Miley Cyrus has insisted that she is not responsible for her fans.

The Hannah Montana star explained that she is still growing up herself even though people think of her as a role model.

"Everything is so dramatic in the world," she told MTV News. "My job is to be a role model, and that's what I want to do, but my job isn't to be a parent."
She continued: "My job isn't to tell your kids how to act or how not to act, because I'm still figuring that out for myself. So to take that away from me is a bit selfish. Your kids are going to make mistakes whether I do or not. That's just life."

Hannah Montana' tops list of Kids Choice Awards

Miley Cyrus has been nominated for four Kids Choice Awards.

The ‘Hannah Montana’ star has topped the list of nominees for the forthcoming ceremony – which takes place on March 27 – after receiving nods for Favourite Singer, Favourite TV Actress and Favourite Movie Actress, as well as Favourite Song for her track ‘Party in the USA’.
Also up for awards are Beyonce Knowles, the Jonas Brothers and Zac Efron. From February 25, viewers will be able to cast their votes in 19 categories on Nickelodeon's website.

A top performer with the Ni Chearra/ O'Baolain school of Irish dancing, she hopped up on stage to sing with the Hannah lookalike.

'The Best of Both Worlds' show, a team of highly trained singers and performers from Britain, put on a fine show at the TLT, with fans of all ages turning out to sing their hearts out.
It began with clips from High School Musical, featuring the classic 'Every Day' - made famous by Troy and Gabriella, before a break that saw Hannah Montana burst out with a version of the 'Best of Both Worlds'. That had everyone dancing and singing in the aisles.
